A fourth-year doctoral student in the Department of Kinesiology with a specialization in Sport Management & Policy at the University of Georgia. Graduate Assistant for Academic Success and Program Coordinator for the Georgia African American Male Experience (GAAME) program within the Office of Institutional Diversity.
My research centers around the identities and experiences of academically & athletically high-achieving Black male athletes. Utilizing visual qualitative research methods I seek to gain a greater understanding of the ways in which their academic, athletic, and racial identities are impacted by their experiences, affecting their sense of self. Through this research, I seek to create a Scholar Athlete Identity Model.
I am member of the Sport Research Instruction Laboratory under the direction of Dr.'s Paul Schempp and Bryan McCullick, and a Student Ambassador for the College of Education.
Additionally, I have a strong passion for service, social justice, engaging in advocacy work and operationalizing in solidarity with various oppressed and marginalized groups.
